Mustache Bash - Al-Bal's Parties are Epic

It was my sisters birthday party last night; we all threw on dirty raper mustaches and partied it up at the Soundview.  For those of you that don't know Soundview Tavern in Everett is pretty trash-tastic.  You are sure to see tweekers, dancing guy, homeless wenches, and a lot of really fun drunk people.  There were a lot of people with legit mustaches; ours were only fakers.

Stache cakes!  It was actually quite difficult to do mustaches. I'm not the greatest artist as you can tell.
My sweater for my beer!
Left my phone on the table and Ivy and Doug decided to take a wacky picture, ha ha, so tame!! They could've been a lot more evil.  I'm surprised Tyler didn't steal my phone and do something crazy.
Now that's better.  Oh Doug.
Photo bombed by SMELLY!  Gotta love it.  Stop staring at my crooked tooth:)
Slushy after a shot.
Daylon's going to kill me for posting, but Ryan had to make an appearance.

Robert having fun with Davonne's blinged out 'stache.
The next day.

I love my Chloe girl.
We went to the Best Western to sleep but continued to have fun, well most of us. Alison was of course passed out. Daylon's parents weren't there to tell him no.
Davonne reminds me of Jamiroquai.
Looks like she is saying something very profound that requires hand motions.
Father Christmas showed up.
The birthday girl.
Look they're little fishies...Disgusting.  Apparently my grandpa likes to eat these, okay.
Chloe:)
It was really great seeing everyone last night.  I met a whole bunch of new Lowe's people that my sis works with.  Got to see so many of my faves: Smelly and her new fiance, Ryan and Mercedes, Daylon, Bridget, Slushy, Ty Ty, Doug and Ivy, Davonne and Brandon, Nelly, oh and dancing guy of course.  I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

Mom and dad are packing for Mexico, I'm so freaking jealous!  Mom was doing a runway show of all of her shorts, tank tops, swim suits and swim suit covers.  Way to rub it in my face.  Then dad just did a fashion show of sunglasses, ha ha.  We picked the ones that made him look like Terminator.  "I'll be back."

The Energizer Bunny! And Chloe Time.

My mom calls me the Energizer Bunny, because no matter what I keep on going.  I'll come home from work when she's staying over and say, "let's go do something."  She responds with, "don't you want to rest for a bit?"  Heck no.  I just wonder if one day I'll crash...  This whole week, I've been going every single day.  In fact when I am home, my cat is so mad at me that she attacks me.  A consequence of my business is my neglecting of my beautiful blog.  And it really stresses me out, but I can't really cancel plans because of have blogger guilt for not posting.

Let me catch up by answering some more questions from the Thirty Things.  Ooh looks like I get to brag about myself a bit.

14. Describe 5 strengths you have.
15. If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
16. What are your 5 greatest accomplishments?

5 Strengths

  1. My "Git-R-Done" mentality.  And by the way, I hate that phrase, but it just describes me so perfectly. Whether it's at work or in life, I just like to get stuff done, and do it well of course.  It has really helped me be competitive and earn great respect in my career.  I think my friends know they can come to me if they need anything as well.
  2. My open mind.  My friends call me the "voice of reason".  I'm able to have a non-biased view of their situations so I can tell them who's in the right or wrong.  It's a pretty big job, but I LOVE IT!!!
  3. My love I'm able to give.  Just look at my niece.  I'm always the favorite and always will be and it's because she feels my love.  Some would argue it's because I spoil her, but I don't buy it.  Everybody spoils her, and I'm still the favorite.
  4. My Ability to Find Fun.  I just always am looking for adventures.  I also think I can turn a pretty boring thing into something fun and exciting.
  5. My stability.  I think I'm a rock for my friends and family.  I'm pretty much an amazing friend.  I'm totally not cocky;)
Animal

I would be an Ostrich!!  They're so funny.  In fact just typing the word, makes me laugh.  They seem like they have a lot of fun.  Okay, please watch this commercial; it makes me cry laughing every single time.

5 Accomplishments

  1. Graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering.  I look back and am just shocked that I did it.  It was so freaking hard.
  2. Lived in Texas on my own.  I used to freak out when I'd go to soccer and horse camp because I missed my family so much.  Even in college, I would go home every weekend.  I'm super close to my family and often depended on their company.  I'm very proud that I made a life for myself in Texas and actually came away with amazing friends that I still see several times a year.  And it's been 5 years; those are good friends.
  3. Being a systems integrator.  My last job, I worked as a systems integrator, doing controls work for multiple customers.  It was something I've always wanted to do but wasn't really sure if I could do it.  I proved that I could, granted I quit after a year.  But, it wasn't because I was bad at it.  I just didn't like working for so many different customers, traveling all of the time.  I like being a part of a plant, where I encounter issues and have a hand in solving them.  It's nice to know I could go back there at any time and do that work again; it was exciting.
  4. Being artistic.  Blogging and painting have made me feel a lot more artistic, letting me tap into the other side of my brain.
  5. That's it...  I mean, I could say just my career in general, but I don't know.  I'm sick of talking about myself.
I'd rather talk about Chloe!  She's coming to stay with me this weekend, along with my sis and Daylon!  Oh there goes my over use of exclamation points again.  Chloe time:

AAAH!  So excited to cuddle this little thing.  It's good being back my lovely blog.

Blogging Withdrawals - Goody Bag of Randomness

10. Describe your most embarrassing moment.
11. Describe 10 pet peeves you have.

Ooh, I'm excited to answer #11, do I have to keep it down to 10?  But, first photo share; here's what's been going on for the last couple of days that I've been absent from the blogosphere.

Bought this amazingly cute outfit for my niece, Chloe.

My redeemed salted caramels from Oh! chocolate. Damn they were delicious, well are. I still have some left.

This amazing fudge that was at the women's show.  They had some odd flavors, like salted watermelon, lime and coconut, and irish cream.  It was delectable.

Chicken curry deliciousness.  So glad I was hanging with Beth, who is a huge fan.

Mmm, garlic naan and chicken curry.

Glam bag arrived finally.  This is so worth $10. It has a full size eye liner and lipgloss.

The wine I picked up at Oh! Chocolates.  It was pretty good, a white blend.

Salted caramel cupcake, yeah buddy.  It even had edible sparkles.

Mmmm cupcakes.

Goat cheese something rather.  They were delishy bomb.

Lobster ravioli.

Cocktails to go with our appys.

Cupcake.

Empanada.

Arcade lights, it was a really great festival.  Lots of delicious artisan food , wine and beer.

A firetruck at the market, not sure what happened.  But, I was at Pike Place Bar and Grill and met up with my old coworker and roommate, Monaca.  It was amazing to catch up after almost 10 years.
Most Embarrassing Moment:  I'm trying to think of adult embarrassing moments, I have a ton of childhood ones.  There was the time in 4th grade when I was up on stage on the risers with my classmates practicing playing the recorder.  I locked my knees and passed out.  I still don't get why I wasn't supposed to lock my knees or what that has to do with me passing out but it was uber embarrassing.  Then there was the time in 1st grade when I puked on my teacher because I thought I needed to tell her before I ran to the bathroom.  Not good.  I'll let you know if I can think of an adult one.  There was the time I fell asleep while cooking queso and smoke damaged my house.  But, I really wasn't embarrassed about it and I paid greatly, $1000 insurance claim.

10 Pet Peeves:

  1. People clipping their nails at work.
  2. Touching a towel when my hands are wrinkly, in fact my hands getting wrinkly at all.
  3. Loud eating.
  4. When people eat crunchy foods, especially carrots.
  5. When people are close minded (racist, sexist, homophobic, stuck in their ways)
  6. When people are stupid and don't know it (ok, I know this is mean)
  7. When people say "like" a lot.
  8. Smacking of gum.
  9. Guilt trips.
  10. Fake people.
I missed blogging, even though it's only been 3 days.  Felt like an eternity.

What are your pet peeves?  Man people can be annoying, I'm sure I am too:)
